Topic : Serve With Understanding.
Memory Verse: Philippians 1:8. Only God knows how much I dearly love you with the tender affection of Jesus, the Anointed One.
Bible Reading : Philippians 1:9-11 TPT. Key Verse: v11.
I continue to pray for your love to grow and increase beyond measure, bringing you into the rich revelation of spiritual insight in all things. This will enable you to choose the most excellent way of all—becoming pure and without offense until the unveiling of Christ. And you will be filled completely with the fruits of righteousness that are found in Jesus, the Anointed One—bringing great praise and glory to God!
Apostle Paul who is a key factor in the new testament was writing to encourage Philippian believers. He founded the Philippian church during his second missionary journey. These believers stood solidly with him, even in the time of persecution, travails and imprisonment. He saw them display Jesus love to him and was in prayers for them to continue in the direction of Christian life that pleased the Lord. We want to see some vital ingredients in the prayers of the Apostle and in the lives of these believers that will be very useful and helpful to us. “I thank my God for you every time I think of you; and every time I pray for you all, I pray with joy because of the way in which you have helped me in the work of the gospel from the very first day until now. And so I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:3-6 GNB.
One of the qualities that warmed the the Philippian believers into the heart of Paul was that they showed him love and formed a formidable partnership with him in the ministry. Through their giving, Apostle Paul couldn’t suffer lack, and the work committed into his care by the master didn’t suffer because of lack of support. “It’s no wonder I pray with such confidence, since you have a permanent place in my heart! You have remained partners with me in the wonderful grace of God even though I’m here in chains for standing up for the truth of the gospel. Only God knows how much I dearly love you with the tender affection of Jesus, the Anointed One.” Philippians 1:7-8.
The Philippian believers were not ignorant of what the Lord expected of them, rather they were full of revelational insight into their calling and how to fulfil it. Because they knew what to do by revelation and could see/hear beyond the ordinary, they didn’t need anyone to push them before they could do the right thing. Many believers today are failing in their duties because they think they are helping someone else including leaders placed over them when they do the right thing, because they lack revelation and insight in their involvement with God. As a young believer, the Spirit one morning gave me time that I must be in Church every Sunday though I was still going through foundational class and came from a distant place to Church. From that day, I saw being in church before that very early hour as an appointment with God that must be kept. I did everything I could to make sure i get to church before the tick of that given time. There was no reason for me not to beat that time, not to talk of being absent from service. Every service was seen as an appointment with the master kept, which always added value me.
Prayer :Thank you Father God because of your love for me. Today I ask for revelational insight in my service to you. Help me to always know the thing to do as to please you in any given situation and to always do thein Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
Yearly Bible Reading : Genesis 25:19-34.
