Topic : Beyond Your Expectations.
Memory Verse :Genesis 17:4. As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
Bible Reading :Genesis 17:1-3KJV. Key Verse: v1.
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
The best thing that can happen to any man is live in God’s presence or to walk before the Lord. Before this time, there existed a very good relationship between God and Abraham. Abraham had enough in God as to leave his father’s house and people to a land he knew not which the Lord had promised him. This relationship kept growing from strength to strength and God blessed him with everything that makes life good. He was so blessed that he could confront the confederation of nations that defeated Sodom and Gomorrah in chapter 14 to recover his nephew Lot and all that was taken away captive. “And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.” Genesis 14:14-16.
At this point in time, God wanted to drop that one thing that was lacking in the life of Abraham which had given him concern more than anything else, to the extent that he even took wrong steps to help himself thinking God won’t do it again. When God came to him this time around, he began to place demands on Abraham for higher blessing that will crown all that has been happening between him and God and make him walk in the completeness of God’s plan for his life. Breaking it down, God first introduced himself to Abraham afresh as the one that can do all things (almighty). God had to do this because in chapter 16 Abraham had given up on Sarah giving him any child and resorted to self help with his wife by looking upto Haga for help instead God himself. All these years, they seemed to have waited on God and nothing happened, so it seemed intelligent that they do something to cover up in that direction. But God was upto something heavier than what they had known…. ” father of many nations. Abraham was just struggling to be a father of a child, but God himself was making a father of many nations whose time was ripe…” my covenant is with thee….. “
God want me to tell someone that it is time for your oversize miracles. Oversiize in the sense that it is bigger than your prayer points and what your little mind had imagined. “This is why the Scriptures says: “Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imagine— these are the many things God has in store for all his lovers. But God now unveils these profound realities to us by the Spirit. Yes, he has revealed to us his inmost heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who constantly explores all things. After all, who can really see into a person’s heart and know his hidden impulses except for that person’s spirit? So it is with God. His thoughts and secrets are only fully understood by his Spirit, the Spirit of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-11. Understand today that delay is not denial. God is working out something bigger than your expectations, only if you are willing to pay the price of living in his presence or walking before him with a perfect heart.
Prayer : Thank you Father God for your faithfulness in all generations. Thank you because you are not looking at my failures to disqualify me from your blessing, but you are depending on your own integrity to honour your word in my life. Thank you for visitations coming my way, that will make me shout and dance for joy in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
