The Effect Of Power And Authority

ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Monday December 23rd, 2024.

Topic :The Effect Of Power And Authority.

Memory Verse:Luke 9:6. The disciples left and travelled through all the villages, preaching the Good News and healing people everywhere.

Bible Reading :Luke 9:1-3 GNB. Key Verse : v1.

Jesus called the twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases. Then he sent them out to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick, after saying to them, “Take nothing with you for the journey: no stick, no beggar’s bag, no food, no money, not even an extra shirt.

At this point in time the disciples of Jesus were undergoing mentorship under the master himself. They had been with him for some time and seen him minister to people. This time, he had to send them out to try their hands on the assignment on their own, in order to build some personal experience as well as confidence in them on the job. It is good to note the two essentials he gave them which anyone working with him and for him must have. They are power and authority. Power on it’s own is a spiritual commodity by which spirits are able to make things happen. It is the ability to affect changes where and when we need them for the purpose of furthering the interest of a spirit being in any given situation or individual life. Authority on it’s own is a spiritual control over localities or territories. Without authority in any particular field or location, yoo will be frustrated on the assignment. Authority in the context of this discussion can be said to mean legal right or backing to represent a spirit being in any given location or territory.

Many people fail in spiritual assignments in some particular territories, not because they lack power, but they don’t have the authority to rule in some territories. Power needs to be backed with authority for anyone representing a spirit being to succeed in any given territory. Power of the kingdom comes by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit who is the power of God at work on earth. “But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”” Acts 1:8. The disciples couldn’t move an inch or lift a pin till the Spirit was released in chapter 2 of the book of Acts which transformed their lives and gave them what it takes to preach the gospel and produce results, which began to manifest instantly in the preaching of Peter which commanded the decision of about 3,000 souls on the spot without any public address system.

In same instruction given to the disciples in Acts 1:8, we see some elements of authority because territories were mentioned……”……….and you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8b. The sphere of authority here began from Jerusalem and spread to Judea and Samaria, before the ends of the earth. That was the reason the works of these few men turned the entire world upside down. Jesus who is the father of Spirits willed the earth to his early and present disciples. “Many of those who thus believed came out of the closet and made a clean break with their secret sorceries. All kinds of witches and warlocks came out of the +woodwork with their books of spells and incantations and made a huge bonfire of them. Someone estimated their worth at fifty thousand silver coins. In such ways it became evident that the Word of the Master was now sovereign and prevailed in Ephesus.” Acts 19:18-20 MSG.

Prayer : Thank you Lord Jesus for giving me power and authority, so that I can represent you effectively and further your course on earth. Help me by your Spirit to take ad3 of these spiritual resources to impact my world and generations to come in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.

Who Is Jesus To You?

ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Sunday December 22nd, 2024.

Topic :Who Is Jesus To You?

Memory Verse : Daniel 11:32. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.KJV

Bible Reading :Luke 9:18-20 GNB. Key Verse : v20.

One day when Jesus was praying alone, the disciples came to him. “Who do the crowds say I am?” he asked them. “Some say that you are John the Baptist,” they answered. “Others say that you are Elijah, while others say that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.” “What about you?” he asked them. “Who do you say I am?”Peter answered, “You are God’s Messiah.”

Jesus had just finished feeding five thousand men excluding women and children with 5 loaves of bread and two fishes. Everyone in attendance ate to their satisfaction and they had twelve baskets of leftover. Now in his normal way, Christ retreated to pray and refresh. There in the place of prayer, his disciples came to him and he began to ask them what they think about him or whom they take him for. They began to furnish him with different perspectives of what men say or think about him. Different people, saw him in different light. They mostly took him to be a great prophet or one dead great prophet come back to life, which wasn’t true of him. Finally he brought the question home to his disciples, to know whom themselves who had been with him thought he was. Peter was quick to identify him for whom he really was. ““Some say that you are John the Baptist,” they answered. “Others say that you are Elijah, while others say that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.” “What about you?” he asked them. “Who do you say I am?”Peter answered, “You are God’s Messiah.”” Luke 9:19-20.

Some years back, when I was in Benin Republic, I discovered that the locals there care less about Christmas, but roll out their drums and do everything they can afford to celebrate new year and make it fun. One day I was discussing with a local, and asked him why they hardly celebrated Christmas, but keep vigil all over on 31st night and celebrate all day on 1st January of every year. He replied me that Christmas is just the celebration of the birth of a child, while the new year marks God’s preservation from a pastyear into a new year. He explained that the fact that God preserved your life into a new year is worth celebrating than the birth of a child. Even with my explanations of the importance of the birth of a saviour and that this child was God in human form, that made little or no impact on him changing his stand. That was because, he saw Jesus as an ordinary child and not God, creator of all things, a saviour, deliverer or Messiah, etc. Many people who run around because of Christmas around the world today are just like my Beninoise friend who see Christ as an ordinary child. Because of what they take him for, he is not able to impact their lives for a change.

“you and everyone else in Israel should know that it is by the power of the name of Jesus that the crippled man stands here today completely healed! You crucified Jesus Christ of Nazareth, but God raised him from the dead. This Jesus is ‘the stone that you, the builders, have rejected, and now he has become the cornerstone!’ There is no one else who has the power to save us, for there is only one name to whom God has given authority by which we must experience salvation: the name of Jesus.”” Acts 4:10-12 TPT. Apostle Peter speaking under the influence of the Holy Spirit here was very succinct before the Sanhedrin who was questioning them on how they were able to heal a man lame from birth who had lived all his life begging. Suddenly, his life was changed and he was given the opportunity have a good life just by the name of Jesus because he is God and not an ordinary prophet or any stuff like that.

Prayer :Thank you Lord Jesus because you are God and saviour of the world. Open the eyes of my understanding to know you the more, so that I can take advantage of every resources available in you to have a good earthly life and finish strong at the end in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.

He Came On A Mission

ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Saturday December 21st, 2024.

Topic :He Came On A Mission.

Memory Verse : Luke 15:7. In the same way, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 respectable people who do not need to repent.

Bible Reading :Luke 15:4:-6 GNB. Key Verse : v4.

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them — what do you do? You leave the other 99 sheep in the pasture and go looking for the one that got lost until you find it. When you find it, you are so happy that you put it on your shoulders and carry it back home. Then you call your friends and neighbours together and say to them, ‘I am so happy I found my lost sheep. Let us celebrate!’

Jesus used parables to drive home important teachings. At this point in time, he was relating and associating with all manner of people without discrimination, including those perceived by people of his days as the worst sinners around, like tax collectors. The Pharisees and teachers of the law of those days found fault in the way he was free with all class of people whom they felt he should have avoided. Jesus knowing their thoughts told them the parable of the lost sheep to help them understand his mission or interest as it affects his association with men. God is so careful about man as to number the hairs on our individual heads. ““What is the value of your soul to God? Could your worth be defined by an amount of money? God doesn’t abandon or forget even the small sparrow he has made. How then could he forget or abandon you? What about the seemingly minor issues of your life? Do they matter to God? Of course they do! So you never need to worry, for you are more valuable to God than anything else in this world.”” Luke 12:6-7 TPT.

Jesus was trying to let them understand the value God placed on every single soul he created on earth. Men who are sinners are lost before God and because it is not God’s will that anyone should perish, he goes an extra mile to pay any possible price to get them saved or back to his fold, which includes coming down to their level in order to win them back to himself by showing them much love and sincere care. “As Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the desert, in the same way the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its saviour.” John 3:14-17.

As we get busy trying to get things ready to celebrate the birth of the most important man that walked the surface of the earth, we must not forget the reason for which he was born. He is God’s gift of love to mankind. The story of his love and commitment to the salvation of men has to be told repeatedly till every living soul on earth understands they need him in their lives. “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:21-23 KJV.

Prayer :Thank you Father God for you plan of redemption that made you send Jesus to the earth for my sake. Help me to take advantage of his sincere love and humility. Help me to share this love with others till I meet you in victory in Jesus wonderful name….. 🙏🏿.

Go And Sin No More.

ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Friday December 20th, 2024.

Topic :Go And Sin No More.

Memory Verse:John 8:11. “No one, sir,” she answered. “Well, then,” Jesus said, “I do not condemn you either. Go, but do not sin again.”]

Bible Reading :John 8:4-6 GNB. Key Verse: v5.

“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. In our Law Moses commanded that such a woman must be stoned to death. Now, what do you say?” They said this to trap Jesus, so that they could accuse him. But he bent over and wrote on the ground with his finger.

This story of the woman caught in the act of adultery is one that reveals the mercy
of God to as many sinners as are willing to repent and turn a new leaf. By what the law of Moses prescribed she ought to be stoned to death at the mouth of some witnesses. This time Jesus was teaching in the temple when the people brought the woman using her as a trap to see if Jesus will not want them to obey the laws of Moses. “Early the next morning he went back to the Temple. All the people gathered round him, and he sat down and began to teach them. The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees brought in a woman who had been caught committing adultery, and they made her stand before them all.“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery.” John 8:2-4..

This particular woman being caught in the act, had no defense to put up. The people was determined to stone her to death, but wanted to use her case to trap Jesus. Himself being God and wiser than men refused to answer them by any word. He maintainrd silence and kept writing on the ground. They began to leave, one after the other till the woman was left alone with Christ who acquited her, charging her to go and sin no more. ““And just as Moses in the desert lifted up the brass replica of a snake on a pole for all the people to see and be healed, so the Son of Man is ready to be lifted up, so that those who truly believe in him will not perish but be given eternal life. For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. “God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!”John 3:14-17 TPT.

Today Jesus is reaching out to the people he died for in mercy. He did not come to destroy, but to rescue and preserve the rescued unto himself. The problem of man is that most time we take the mercy of God for granted. We have to learn that sin is the root of every problems of man, so as to deal with it decisively. When we come to Jesus therefore, we have to make up our minds to turn our back to the paths of sin as to close every door the enemy may want to explore against us. ““What man?” they asked him. “Who was this man who ordered you to carry something on a Sabbath?” But the healed man couldn’t give them an answer, for he didn’t yet know who it was since Jesus had already slipped away into the crowd. A short time later, Jesus found the man at the temple and said to him, “Look at you now! You’re healed! Walk away from your sin so that nothing worse will happen to you.”” John 5:12-14 TPT.

Prayer :Thank you Lord Jesus for revealing your mercy to me. Thank you for taking my place in judgement and dying to save me. From today, I want to live all my days to please you. Help by your Spirit to live above sin in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.

Get Hooked To Jesus.

ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Thursday December 19th, 2024.

Topic : Get Hooked To Jesus.

Memory Verse :Matthew 11:27. “My Father has given me all things. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Bible Reading :Matthew 11:28-30 GNB. Key Verse: v29.

“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.”

Jesus Christ came to the earth simply for me and you. God came through him descending to the level of man, where we can relate with him in our fralties and not be destroyed. Before manifesting in the flesh or in the form of a man, men had no second chance with God because no remedy was found for man’s problem which is sin. The first thing Jesus did was to die so that we can be free from the shackles of sin and it’s attendant consequences. This becomes possible only when we believe in the finished work of the cross. “Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Listen, sir! I will give half my belongings to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will pay back four times as much.” Jesus said to him, “Salvation has come to this house today, for this man, also, is a descendant of Abraham. The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”” Luke 19:8-10.

Jesus demands that we partner with him in everything we do for life. This becomes possible when we move from being just saved to knowing him. The real knowledge of him comes only by revelation because he has depths as God. Every believer needs a personal revelation of Christ that solidifies our individual walk or relationship with him. Ask him therefore to reveal himself to you personally. Revelation breeds conviction, conviction on it’s own breeds trust which is wisdom which return breeds strength. Sometimes men stop halfway in faith when the encounter storms because of shaky convictions in what their walk. “and my teaching and message were not delivered with skilful words of human wisdom, but with convincing proof of the power of God’s Spirit. Your faith, then, does not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power. Yet I do proclaim a message of wisdom to those who are spiritually mature. But it is not the wisdom that belongs to this world or to the powers that rule this world — powers that are losing their power.” 1 Corinthians 2:4-6.

The reason Jesus demands partnership with us is so that he will always have a legal ground to always defend us or intervene in our daily affairs. To be yoked together here is to work in partnership. At this level of relationship, he is able to bring wisdom and strength to bare in whatever we are doing. The resultant effect will always be unusual impact or uncommon results as proof of his presence. Men who deny themselves of this type of reprieve and relief make their own lives unnecessarily cumbersome. “I am the gate. Whoever comes in by me will be saved; they will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life — life in all its fullness. “I am the good shepherd, who is willing to die for the sheep.” John 10:9-11.

Prayer :Thank you Lord Jesus for coming through for me. Thank you for revealing yourself to me in your word and by your Spirit. I want to live the rest of my life in partnership with you. Thank for making my life worthwhile in Jesus mighty name…. Amen 🙏🏿.

Praising Into Your Victory.

ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Wednesday December 18th, 2024.

Topic:Praising Into Your Victory.

Memory Verse :Psalm 115:14. God himself will fill you with more. Blessings upon blessings will be heaped upon you and upon your children from the maker of heaven and earth, the very God who made you!

Bible Reading :Psalm 115:11-13 TPT. Key Verse : v11.

Yes, all his lovers who bow before him, trust in the Lord. For he is our only true hero, God-wrapped-around-us as our shield. The Lord will never forget us in our need; he will bless us indeed! He will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron, his priest. Yes! He will bless his lovers who bow before him, no matter who they are.

This is a season of praise and thanksgiving unto the Lord and creator of the entire universe including everything in it seen and unseen. They are here to serve his purpose. One of the reasons men must praise God and give glory and worship to him is the fact that we and every other creature came from him. “He is the divine portrait, the true likeness of the invisible God, and the first-born heir of all creation. For through the Son everything was created, both in the heavenly realm and on the earth, all that is seen and all that is unseen. Every seat of power, realm of government, principality, and authority—it was all created through him and for his purpose! He existed before anything was made, and now everything finds completion in him.” Colossians 1:15-17.

Another reason we have to praise, thank and worship the Lord is because he is our protection in a world full of wickedness. Because he knows and sees us things, he is able to ward off every attack of the enemy aimed destroying us or what belongs to us to cause us pain. He is our strong tower that sights danger on time and sounds an alarm for us to take right action. He is our fortified place of refuge that can never be broken down or into by lesser but wicked forces. He watches over us as his inheritance here on earth. “So trust in the Lord, all his people. For he is the only true hero, the wrap-around God who is our shield! You, his priests, trust in the Lord. For he is the only true hero, God-wrapped-around-us as our shield. Yes, all his lovers who bow before him, trust in the Lord. For he is our only true hero, God-wrapped-around-us as our shield.” Psalm 115:9-11.

Our voice appreciation, praise, thanksgiving and worship must not cease to reach the high heavens because he is the source of every blessing we receive. The word rightly said that every good and perfect gift comes from his presence. As a father, he sees to the fact that our needs are being met, circumstances and location not withstanding. We will praise and thank him even things we are trusting him to do this season. He is always there for us as our ever present help in times of trouble. “He said to me, “Israel, you are my servant;     because of you, people will praise me.” I said, “I have worked, but how hopeless it is! I have used up my strength, but have accomplished nothing.” Yet I can trust the Lord to defend my cause; he will reward me for what I do. Before I was born, the Lord appointed me; he made me his servant to bring back his people, to bring back the scattered people of Israel. The Lord gives me honour; he is the source of my strength.” Isaiah 49:3-5.

Prayer: Thank you Father God for making me your own. Thank you because your praise won’t cease from my mouth. As I raise altars of praise, thanksgiving appreciation and worship this season, do great things in my life and take all the glory in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.

Becoming A Channel Of Blessings

ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Tuesday December 17th, 2024.

Topic :Becoming A Channel Of Blessings.

Memory Verse:2 Chronicles 15:4. But when trouble came, they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel. They searched for him and found him.

Bible Reading : 2 Chronicles 15:1-3 GNB. Key Verse: v2.

The Spirit of God came upon Azariah son of Oded, and he went to meet King Asa. He called out, “Listen to me, King Asa, and all you people of Judah and Benjamin! The Lord is with you as long as you are with him. If you look for him, he will let you find him, but if you turn away, he will abandon you. For a long time Israel lived without the true God, without priests to teach them, and without a law.

When Abijah died as king over the people of Judah, his son Asa ascended the throne as his successor. At the beginning Asa did very well and was acknowledged and blessed by the Lord. He took away strange altars and restored sanity by the teaching of the law of word of God in his generation, causing the people to seek the true God of their fathers. Because he pleased God, he saw no wars for about 10 years as the Lord kept his enemies busy with much trouble to grapple with that they didn’t have time to trouble him. Because he had peace and prospered, he built fenced cities in Judah and raised a formidable army. Even when Zera King of Ethiopia amassed an intimidating army against him, he sought the face of God for help. The Lord caused his enemies to fall like packs of cards before him. The Lord defeated the Ethiopian army when Asa and the army of jud attacked them. They fled, and Asa and his troops pursued them as far as Gerar. So many of the Ethiopians were killed that the army was unable to rally and fight. They were overpowered by the Lord and his army, and the army took large amounts of loot.” 2 Chronicles 14:12-13.

It is on record that after God had blessed king Asa and the people of Judah beyond their prayer points, that he grew cold in the Lord and backslided in his heart. He turned around to trust on physicians, riches, wealth and what they could afford instead the Lord God of their father’s who brought him that far in blessings and strength. One of the reasons Asa didn’t finish strong was because the people of his days used God to meet their needs when they had them, but was not determined in their hearts to love and serve him from the depths of their hearts as God. They knew how to humble themselves and seek his intervention and deliverance when they run into trouble, but didn’t pay attention to know him deeply for themselves as to have his love and fear seated deeply in their hearts. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second most important commandment is this: ‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment more important than these two.”” Mark 12:30-31.

Today we have to learn that the reason the Christian life of many are unstable is because they only use God to achieve their goals. There are many believers that work for handouts when God has planned that they be instrumental to bless other men around them. They are are not making any serious efforts to know Jesus personally, they are just satisfied when he solves their problems or meets their immediate needs. After which they abandon him and keep pursuing other things they think more about how to meet their physical needs. Such people remember to seek the Lord for help again when they run into trouble waters of life again. Today the Spirit wants to draw us close to a point where we have personal testimonies of God’s faithfulness that will help our resolve to love and serve him with everything within our reach. Men who live to seek miracles or divine intervention will keep flunctuating and unstable while men who build relationships of trust with the Lord this season will become channels of blessing and divine intervention in their lifetime.

Prayer :Thank you Father God because you have saved, so that you can make me. Today, I ask that you shed your love abroad in my heart by your Spirit. As I seek to know you more, reveal yourself to me till I become a channel to bless other men in my generation in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.

Praising Into Your Victory.

ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Monday December 16th.2024.

Topic : Praising Into Your Victory.

Memory Verse:Psalm 113:5. No one can be compared to God, enthroned on high!

Bible Reading :Psalm 113:1-3 TPT. Key Verse : v2.

God Is Kind Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Go ahead, praise the Lord, all you loving servants of God! Keep it up! Praise him some more! For the glorious name of the Lord is blessed forever and ever. From sunrise brilliance to sunset beauty, lift up his praise from dawn to dusk!

One of the easiest ways to get to the heart of God Almighty is to praise his glorious and mighty name. When we praise God, we invoke his presence in uncommon and visible measure. Praises most time are shortcuts to secure divine intervention in any given situation. When we open up to praise God from the depths of our hearts, he does fearful things in our midst. We have to praise him because though he is king of the universe, he stoops down to our level as humans to save as well as relate with us in a most intimate manner because he values our existence. He comes down to us in our low estate, that he might lift us to places of honour. “For he rules on high over the nations with a glory that outshines even the heavens. No one can be compared to God, enthroned on high! He stoops down to look upon the sky and the earth.” Psalm 113:4-6.

We have to praise him because he is the lifter of men. Our God is a specialist in lifting men from nothing to something. He lifted Joseph from a slave boy to a manager in the house of Potiphar. Even when he was wrongly accused and imprisoned, from prison he raised him to become prime minister in a land he entered as a slave boy that had no right to anything good. Before the eyes of all men, he caused Esther to find favour in all her dealings when a new wife was being sought for king Ahasuerus of Persia and Media. Favour from God’s presence made way for her till she was crowned Queen in a land she entered as a slave girl. “The king liked her more than any of the other women, and more than any of the others she won his favour and affection. He placed the royal crown on her head and made her queen in place of Vashti. Then the king gave a great banquet in Esther’s honour and invited all his officials and administrators. He proclaimed a holiday for the whole empire and distributed gifts worthy of a king.” Esther 2:17-18.

“He promotes the poor, picking them up from the dirt, and rescues the needy from the garbage dump. He turns paupers into princes and seats them on their royal thrones of honor. God’s grace provides for the barren ones a joyful home with children so that even childless couples find a family. He makes them happy parents surrounded by their pride and joy. That’s the God we praise, so give it all to him!” Psalm 113:7-9. Another reason we have to praise God is because of answered prayers. We can only pray as men, only him has the perogative of mercy that delivers answers to prayers. As the year is ticking to a halt by the seconds, anything you can praise God for, he will deliver to you. Instead of complaining for results you haven’t seen, raise your voice to praise God for his faithfulness in those areas of your life you need his intervention. As you praise God, he will reveal his intervention in your favour this season.

Prayer : Thank you Father God because you are a faithful God. Thank you for saving my soul and making me your own. I praise you for every answer you delivered to my prayers. I praise you because you are about to reveal your intervention in…… (mention them). Let your name be praised forever for your goodness and mercies in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.

Memory Verse:Luke 14:33. In the same way,” concluded Jesus, “none of you can be my disciple unless you give up everything you have.

Bible Reading :Luke 14:26-28. GNB. Key Verse: v27.

“Those who come to me cannot be my disciples unless they love me more than they love father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and themselves as well. Those who do not carry their own cross and come after me cannot be my disciples. “If one of you is planning to build a tower, you sit down first and work out what it will cost, to see if you have enough money to finish the job.

The primary reason Jesus came to the earth is save men from condemnation and raise followers unto himself. His mission was to birth himself and the vision of God in such men who follow him, so that after he is gone back to the father as it stands now, such men can continue with the good works he began in the lives of men when he was on earth physically. In the first place we need to understand that Jesus never lived his life to please men, but God. At the beginning of Luke 14, he was a guest in the house of a Pharisee which didn’t go down well with some people. There he taught men of the need to be humble when in public places. On a very important note he told them the parable of the great banquet, which centered on God trying to be on same page with men who took such privileges from the almighty for granted and flooded him with excuses just like the unbelieving Jews. Now he had to throw the gate of grace open to whosoever cares to listen to his call or invitation.

Finally he began to let them know that following him or discipleship always comes at a cost. Because of the cost, it is for men who value keeping a relationship with the Lord. Just like every other relationships we keep on earth, it goes with sacrifices and investments to be cultivated and maintained. Such investment includes our time and resources to get the best of it. In life we have the power of choice, which is key to our long term and short term decisions and preferences. We can decide to live for our own course, the course of other men close to us or that of the kingdom of God. The men in the parable of the great banquet was full of excuses because they loved the world more than they loved the king who gave the banquet and because they didn’t really know the importance of dining with the creator of the universe. If they knew, they will not have any excuses that should keep them away from divine agenda, when the master had given us open invitation and cheque.

Today we must understand that following Jesus is God’s will for every believer. Again, following him is a choice we make on individual basis. You have to make up your mind to invest things you value into your journey of faith. They include your time, endowments and scarce resources. You may also need to sacrifice some relationship that are of less value because they have nothing to offer beyond this present life, especially when their interests run contrary to divine purpose. You must also understand that being in church or church membership doesn’t mean a man is following Jesus. Men who follow him are able to discern his voice and obey when he speaks. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never die. No one can snatch them away from me. What my Father has given me is greater than everything, and no one can snatch them away from the Father’s care.” John 10:26-28.

Prayer :Thank you Lord Jesus for saving my soul. Let your Spirit be at work in me. Help me to pay the price of discipleship with you. Make me a man you can depend on to carry out your good plans in my generation in Jesus precious name…. Amen 🙏🏿.

Bible Reading :Matthew 4:18-20 GNB. Key Verse: v19.

As Jesus walked along the shore of Lake Galilee, he saw two brothers who were fishermen, Simon (called Peter) and his brother Andrew, catching fish in the lake with a net. Jesus said to them, “Come with me, and I will teach you to catch people.” At once they left their nets and went with him.

After Jesus Christ fasted 40 days and 40 nights, he was led by the Spirit of God into the wilderness where he was tempted by the devil. In all the temptations of the enemy, Jesus Christ prevailed. That was when his ministry assignment opened up according to the words of prophecy that came from the mouth of Isaiah the Prophet. “He did not stay in Nazareth, but went to live in Capernaum, a town by Lake Galilee, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali. This was done to make what the prophet Isaiah had said come true: “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, on the road to the sea, on the other side of the Jordan, Galilee, land of the Gentiles! The people who live in darkness  will see a great light. On those who live in the dark land of death the light will shine.”” Matthew 4:13-16.

From that time, he began his preaching and teaching ministry to prepare a people unto himself. As he was passing through the shores of a lake in Galilee, he saw two fishermen brothers named Peter and Andrew and called them to follow him. Luke gave a more detailed account of his encounter with these two brothers. In Luke’s account, these two men had a disappointing outing in business where they caught nothing all night. They were washing their nets, getting ready to go empty when the master appeared on the scene. After Jesus used his boat for ministry purposes, he asked Peter to launch for a draught. ““Master,” Simon answered, “we worked hard all night long and caught nothing. But if you say so, I will let down the nets.” They let them down and caught such a large number of fish that the nets were about to break. So they motioned to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. They came and filled both boats so full of fish that the boats were about to sink.” Luke 5:5-7.

Today Jesus Christ is still going about calling people and raising men unto himself. His voice comes through preachers and teachers around the universe. These men raise their voices in the streets, on social media and every available channel because they have been to the heart of God. Jesus is extending his call to you that is reading this. He wants you to leave everything you have faced before now to follow him. The reason you need to follow is for your own good, so that he can make you. When you make yourself or fellow men make you, they can also destroy or pull you down, same way they built you. However, when the Lord makes a man, he also shields him from wicked men that wants to pull him down or destroy him.

Prayer :Thank you Lord Jesus for coming through to me to raise me. Help me to heed the call of your Spirit. As I follow you the rest of my life, make me and take all the glory in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
