Topic :Becoming Useful In His Mighty Hands.
Memory Verse : Philippians 3:6. And concerning the righteousness of the Torah, no one surpassed me; I was without a peer. Furthermore, as a fiery defender of the truth, I persecuted the messianic believers with religious zeal.
Bible Reading : Philippians 3:3-4 TPT.
For we have already experienced “heart-circumcision,” and we worship God in the power and freedom of the Holy Spirit, not in laws and religious duties. We are those who boast in what Jesus Christ has done, and not in what we can accomplish in our own strength. It’s true that I once relied on all that I had become. I had a reason to boast and impress people with my accomplishments—more than others—for my pedigree was impeccable.
Apostle Paul before his encounter with Jesus Christ was not a man of mean stature. He was a notable lawyer who served God with a passion and lived to defend his ideals (Judaism), though in a wrong way and out of ignorance. He wielding enough influence as to work in close rank with the rulers of his days. He thought he was on the right track of life and doing well until he met Christ. That singular encounter rubished all his self esteem and pride of life because he was introduced into the realm of Christ, the saviour of the universe. That exposed him to a new dimension of life that is superior to everything he had known before then. The glory of the master that shone around him in the ecounter blinded his physical eyes so that he could be blind to some things he loved before then, in order to begin to see beyond the ordinary. Acts 9:2-9.
One of the reasons Apostle Paul was able to attain enviable heights in his walk with Jesus and the attendant kingdom assignment was because he was able to empty himself of all he knew in the past (before he met Christ) and pursue with the same unwavering zeal he had in Judaism the knowledge of his new found love, who is Jesus Christ. He didn’t come to a point where he counted himself as having arrived in his walk with God. The more Christ revealed himself to him by his Spirit, the more he craved for more of him. That hunger imbeded in his innermost being was key to the uncommon depths he was able to fathom in his journey of faith. “I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14.
Today, God want to raise men in the mould of this and other great servants whose lives changed the narrative of the kingdom in time past. The work of the end time is so important that it needs dedicated and committed men who are sold out to the Lord. Men who can muster enough courage to trust in his wisdom and depend on his Spirit and not their human capacity or background. If we are ready, the Lord will help us in the areas where we can’t help ourselves. “So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to them. And let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize, following one path with one passion.” Philippians 3:15-16.
Prayer :Thank you Father God for raising me so that I can be used to raise the next generation. Today, create a hunger for more of you in my spirit. Help me to always depend on you and not my wisdom or personal abilities. Thank you because your investment of grace in my life will never be in vain in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
Yearly Bible Reading : Genesis 40:1-23.
