Topic : Marked For Destruction.
Memory Verse : Exodus 14:8. And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand.
Bible Reading :Exodus 14:5-7. Key Verse: v7.
And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us? And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him: And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
The people of Israel had migrated to Egypt because of the famine of those days and the divine lifting of Joseph in Egypt who became prime minister in a foreign land. Joseph had to bring his people to Egypt because that was the only place where there was enough food in order to take care of them. The Israelites lived in Egypt for about 430 years. “Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not: And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children’s children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast: And there will I nourish thee; for yet there are five years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.” Genesis 45:9-11. After Joseph and the the Pharaoh that worked with Joseph died, the Egyptians and their kings became envious of the Israelites and placed them under rigorous bondage.
When the people of God could not bear the sufferings they were being subjected to anymore, they began to cry to God almighty for help. God had to raise Moses and send him back into Egypt to liberate the people of God from the land of slavery and rigorous servitude under the Egyptians. Now, despite all the signs and wonders that God did by the hands of Moses in the presence of Pharaoh to authenticate his mission before Pharaoh, he refused to let the people of God to go and serve their God as being by demanded by Moses at the command of the Lord. Even when he finally released the people of Israel hastily because God slew all their first born by night, he still changed his mind and began to pursue the people intending to bring them back to the place of bondage and servitude. He ended up being destroyed at the red sea with his elite army.
Today understand that no power is permitted to keep you under any form of bondage if you are living for Jesus Christ. On another note, you don’t have to be afraid of any hardened enemy of yours that refuses to give up, rather we should pity them knowing that they are marked for destruction. “And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them. But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.” Exodus 14:27-29.
Prayer :Thank you Father God because today, my deliverance from every form of bondage I have found myself in is not negotiable. Therefore, as I cross my red sea as on dry ground, every power pursuing me to hinder God’s plan of victory shall be swallowed up and destroyed in Jesus mighty name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
