ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.
Friday 22nd December, 2023.
Topic : Keys To Finishing Strong.
Memory Verse:1 Timothy 6:9. But they that will be rich (hastily) fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
Bible Reading :1 Timothy 6:5-8. Key Verse: v7.
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
Riches, wealth and all the good things of this life are good to have, but they are not the most important thing anyone who understands the purpose of living should pursue at all cost. Many people measure success in the kingdom by the volume of material things one controls in our days. But that is not the way God himself sees it. Others in their drive to belong to a certain class in the society and command respect and attention of men in the kingdom are soiling their hands. Sometimes we seem to forget that the words of wisdom that Elder John gave us… “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17.
Truth is that when we serve God faithfully, the blessings are bound to come and at God’s own timing too. But when we prioritise material things above our walk with God, we are bound to make mistakes. “(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:32-33. Riches, wealth and other material things are things we receive from God as birthright in the place of service, as his offsprings. Hagai 2:8.
“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;” 1 Timothy 6:11-13. Today, what Paul told his son Timothy he is telling us. We must learn to be patient in humility when things seems to delay. We must be men that follow after what is right before God. There is need for us to walk in love for God and the brethren. Most importantly, we must keep our faith or trust in God standing firm under any circumstances. When we have done these, we will be in right condition to give our heavenly race the best we can as to finish strong.
Prayer :Thank you Father God because you will always uphold me with your mighty hand. Today, help me to love you more than what the eyes can see. Keep me from every trap that destroy men’s destiny in you. Help me to finish strong in Jesus precious name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
Yearly Bible Reading : 1 Peter 2:1-25
