Topic :Making The Word Count In Your Life.

Memory Verse :Matthew 13:8. But other seeds fell on good, rich soil that kept producing a good harvest. Some yielded thirty, some sixty, and some even one hundred times as much as he planted!

Bible Reading :Matthew 13:4-7 TPT. Key Verse : v7.

As he cast his seeds, some fell along the beaten path and the birds came and ate them. Other seeds fell onto gravel that had no topsoil. The seeds quickly shot up, but when the days grew hot, the sprouts were scorched and withered because they had insufficient roots. Other seeds fell among the thorns and weeds, so when the seeds sprouted, so did the weeds, crowding out the good plants.

Jesus was by the seashore and the people gathered to him and he taught them. Anywhere he went people always wanted to listen to him because he had solution to their problems and answers to their questions all the time. He began this time to teach about the sower, the soil and the seed. He taught them about four types of soil that the teachings he had been given fell upon. The first was the wayside, followed by thorny grounds. Next he taught about the gravel or stony ground and finally the good or fertile ground. The texture of each kind of soil where the seed of the word Jesus taught about fell determined the outcome or future of the seed.

When he was alone his disciples approached him to explain this parable to them for deeper understanding. In his explanation, Jesus made us understand that the wayside soil are men who receive the seed of the word without attaching any value to same. Such people come to Jesus because of what they know that they can get from him to solve their problems, they are not open to the mysteries and revelations contained in the teachings of Jesus. Because of that, what they received, they are not able to keep because they don’t value same, so they are taken away from them. “For everyone who listens with an open heart will receive progressively more revelation until he has more than enough. But those who don’t listen with an open, teachable heart, even the understanding that they think they have will be taken from them.” Matthew 13:12.

The heart or soil of gravel are those who does have strong hunger for the things of the kingdom because they don’t really know the value too. Their hearts are not sold out for the kingdom. Therefore when persecution and challenges come, they give up. The one that fell among weeds are men who after they receive the word are not able to make it count in their lives in the long run because of the cares for things of this world that had eaten up their hearts just the way weeds destroy crops in a farm. ““As for the seed that fell upon good, rich soil, it represents the hearts of people who hear and fully embrace the message of heaven’s kingdom realm. Their lives bear good fruit—some yield a harvest of thirty, sixty, even one hundred times as much as was sown.”” Matthew 13:23. We therefore have to consciously surrender our hearts to the Lord if we desire that our hearts be fertile or rich soil where the word we hear daily can produce abundant results.

Prayer : Thank you Lord Jesus for your word is Spirit and life. From today, help me to condition my heart by the help of your Spirit to be a rich soil where the words I hear daily can always produce much results unto eternal life in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
