Topic :When Men Try To Limit God.
Memory Verse :Mark 3:5. Then looking around at everyone, Jesus was moved with indignation and grieved by the hardness of their hearts and said to the man, “Now stretch out your hand!” As he stretched out his hand, it was instantly healed!
Bible Reading :Mark 3:2-4 TPT. Key Verse : v4.
Everyone was watching Jesus closely to see if he would heal the man on the Sabbath, giving them a reason to accuse him of breaking Sabbath rules. Jesus said to the man with the paralyzed hand, “Stand here in the middle of the room.” Then he turned to all those gathered there and said, “Which is it? Is it against the law to do evil on the Sabbath or to do good? To destroy a life or to save one?” But no one answered him a word.
This time Jesus Christ the God and creator of the universe who came to the earth as a man walked into the synagogue on this very sabbath day and there he found a man who was partially paralysed. One of his hands never -worked as it was dead and hanging. The religious and political leaders who were uncomfortable with his ministry watched to see if he would heal him of a sabbath which to them should be a day when no man can do any work according to the Tora. “Jesus Heals on the Sabbath Then Jesus left them and went again into the synagogue, where he encountered a man who had an atrophied, paralyzed hand. Everyone was watching Jesus closely to see if he would heal the man on the Sabbath, giving them a reason to accuse him of breaking Sabbath rules.” Mark 3:1-2.
Jesus being God knew their thoughts. They desired to accuse him of breaking the law. He therefore brought the man out in his condition. As they all watched the helpless man. He then asked them to tell him if it is good to save or destroy a life on a Sabbath. Looking at the man, they knew where he was going and therefore couldn’t answer his question because deep down inside them, they knew that they wanted to keep this particular man in perpetual bondage and hopelessness should he not take best advantage of meeting Jesus that very day. These very religious and political class of the days was full of themselves and couldn’t humble themselves to learn the wisdom of God Jesus came to impart to the inhabitants of this earth which he created. The law they were trying to hold unto was a temporary measure before he came in person to correct every wrong impressions of men about God.
Even today Jesus Christ is still going round every locality, city, and nation trying to loose men bound by sin and Satan with all kinds of afflictions. The only problem is that men keep limiting the master in every generation, they try to give him boundaries instead of being open to learn from his humble self. Many people has missed out of what Jesus wants to do in their lives because they don’t want to humble themselves before the Lord. Some of them criticise a fight what they don’t understand because it ruins contrary to their theology and because they don’t understand the move of the Spirit. Today, Jesus as asking us to put on the garment of humility to get the best of him. We must be willing to learn from him, we have to take advantage of the Holy Spirit given to live in us who is to lead and guide us in the paths of truth. Again we must realise that he cares about all our needs, be they spiritual, physical or material. His love that made him surrender his life, doesn’t diminish. We have to know that we can’t be more righteous than God himself which is always a sign of spiritual blindness. “A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow!” John 10:10. See Acts 10:38.
Prayer :Thank you Lord Jesus for your love that made you die to save my soul. Thank you for your total care for my well being. I humble myself to learn of you. Teach me the way of righteousness and lead in the paths of fellowship with your Spirit all my days. Msy I not limit you in my life or stand on your way anytime you move in our midst in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
