Topic :The Master Needs You.

Memory Verse:Matthew 20:14. Now take your pay and go home. I want to give this man who was hired last as much as I have given you.

Bible Reading : Matthew 20:7-9 GNB. ‘Key Verse : v8.

No one hired us,’ they answered. ‘Well, then, you also go and work in the vineyard,’ he told them. “When evening came, the owner told his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, starting with those who were hired last and ending with those who were hired first.’ The men who had begun to work at five o’clock were paid a silver coin each.

In the usual manner of Jesus using earthly things to teach about spiritual things or things of the kingdom, he compared the kingdom of God to a wealthy man who needed much hands in his field or farm to get the work done. In the early morning hours, he went out and hired some people or labourers at the price of a piece of silver. The hired men went to work and he monitored the work in progress. By 9.00am, he observed the need to engage more hands to increase capacity. Again by 12.00 noon, he went out again and hired more hands. He went out every three hours till 5.00pm after watching the level of work done and went out to hire more hands because the work must be fully done at the end of the day. He promised the last hour entrant into the work to give them anything he feels is right. “The Kingdom of heaven is like this. Once there was a man who went out early in the morning to hire some men to work in his vineyard. He agreed to pay them the regular wage, a silver coin a day, and sent them to work in his vineyard.”” Matthew 20:1-2..

The kingdom of God is still as elastic as ever even in our days. There are many things that God wants to achieve which can’t be possible, except men make themselves available to the master. One of the challenges of Christianity in our days is that some people love idleness. Satan on his part is busy on his own, hounding men into as much distractions as he could afford, so that the work of the Master won’t be done at last. This he does because when the work is done by us, many people he is keeping in various forms of bondage will be set free. He will not want any man to hear and heed the voicr of the Spirit of Christ.

“Surely you know that many runners take part in a race, but only one of them wins the prize. Run, then, in such a way as to win the prize. Every athlete in training submits to strict discipline, in order to be crowned with a wreath that will not last; but we do it for one that will last for ever. That is why I run straight for the finishing line; that is why I am like a boxer who does not waste his punches.” 1 Corinthians 9:2426. One thing that should keep us going in the midst of challenges is the fact that there’s a reward or price to be given by our faithful God. In the parable of Jesus, the reward given was equal though some people ‘worked just for about an hour. Today, we are learning to stop complaining where are not working the way they should, but to see such needs as opportunities to serve. We don’t have to be idle in God’s house and kingdom. There’s a work for each and every one of us, if we can listen to the need of the Master. We should ask what he wants us to be doing for him, where we are not sure. Kingdom service is the master key to unlock doors of real and lasting blessings.

Prayer :Thank you Father God for saving me to serve. Today, open my eyes to things you want me to be doing for you in your house and kingdom. Give me the ability to obey your voice. Thank you for blessing me mightily and making me a blessing in Jesus precious name….. Amen 🙏🏿.

Yearly Bible Reading : Genesis 32:1-33:17.
