Topic : Blessings Of Obedience.

Memory Verse : ‭Romans 8:14. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Bible Reading :‭Exodus 23:20-22 NIV‬. Key Verse : v22

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him. If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and will oppose those who oppose you.

The children of Israel was on their way to Canaan, the land of promise after the Lord brought them out of the bondage of Egypt by a mighty hand. At this point they were given promises of good things that will be their portion on the condition that they recognise and obey the voice of the angel of God’s presence assigned to lead them through the wilderness. They were to carefully listen to, as to obey the voice of the angel of God. When they do that, the Lord himself will be an enemy to their enemies and will help them to posses the land of promise by the power that makes him God Almighty. They were also commanded not to serve any other but the Lord their God who is the creator of heaven and earth. Obedience was key to them enjoying divine presence, protection health the preservative power of the Almighty.

‭”Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span. “I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run.” Exodus 23:25-27. When your food and water is blessed, you will have peace. You will have an enabling environment to enjoy the daily blessings of God bestowed on you. Not only that you will walk in divine health, as well as enjoy divine preservation. Not only that, the presence of the Lord in your camp will command his mighty acts that will cause panic in the camp of your enemies. The testimony of Rahab to the men Joshua sent to search out Jericho is a confirmation to this fact.

‭”and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. We have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed. When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below.” Joshua 2:9-11. Today, you need to realise that these and more are the blessings you enjoy by covenant when you serve and obey the voice of the Lord in your lifetime, even now. When you have this understanding, anytime the enemy brings something contrary, you will be bold enough to confront him as to send him packing from your territory. James 4:7.

Prayer : Thank you Father God for being my guide through the journey of life. Give me a heart that obeys your voice all the time. As I walk in obedience before you, let these covenant blessings as contained in your word be my portion in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
