Monday June 3rd, 2024.
Topic : Instructions From The Mouth Of David.
Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 3:16. The Church, God’s Inner Sanctuary Don’t you realize that together you have become God’s inner sanctuary and that the Spirit of God makes his permanent home in you? (TPT)
Bible Reading : 1 Chronicles 28:8-10 NIV. Key Verse: v10.
“So now I charge you in the sight of all Israel and of the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God: Be careful to follow all the commands of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land and pass it on as an inheritance to your descendants forever. “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.”
Before king David slept in the Lord, he prepared Solomon his son who succeeded him to build a temple for the Lord God of Israel. He also passed some vital instructions that will benefit us to Solomon that he should follow in order to walk in full flow of the blesings of the Lord, so that blessings can flow to the next generation and into the lives of his own children too. One of such instructors includes that he should follow or obey the voice and commands of the Lord. Following the Lord obediently is a key factor that will make any man warm himself into the hearts of the almighty for the release of the fulness of God’s blessings upon his life and generation. “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
Deuteronomy 28:1-3.
Another key David gave Solomon his son in the main text is service flowing from a dedicated, committed and joyful heart. Solomon was instructed to serve the Lord God of Israel from the depths of hearts with unwavering commitment. He had to be totally devoted to God Almighty with a joyful and willing heart. This is because God doesn’t just take our service to him on surface value like men, rather he goes deep down to weigh our intentions and mindset in every engagement and commitment we have with him. Our mindset on the job most time determines how he scores us or responds to us with attendant rewards. “And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him.” Hebrews 11:6 TPT.
Another important fact we must not miss here is that the primary assignment for which Solomon was being commissioned was the building of the temple, which is a house for God. Today God has made it very clear to us that he doesn’t live in houses built by men. Rather, he lives in houses built by himself, which is man. This means that today, God is not only out to bless us when we serve him with a heart of love and devotion, he wants to live in us as to keep us company in everything we do daily. Again, it is good to point out here that the blesings God is releasing upon those who love and serve him is meant to spill over to men around us including generations unborn for our sake, when we serve him diligently. “The benevolent man leaves an inheritance that endures to his children’s children, but the wealth of the wicked is treasured up for the righteous. The lovers of God will live a long life and get to enjoy their wealth, but the ungodly will suddenly perish.” Proverbs 13:22-23 TPT.
Prayer : Thank you Father God for whom you love, you will always instruct. Help me to always delight in obeying your commands and serving you with joy. Let my body be a place of habitation for your Spirit. Make me a man that you can always depend on in Jesus wonderful name… Amen 🙏🏿.
Yearly Bible Reading : Jonah 1:1-2:10.
