Topic : Passing The Test.
Memory Verse : Mark 11:6. They answered just as Jesus had told them: “The master needs it, and he will send it back to you soon.” So the bystanders let them go.
Bible Reading :Mark 11:1-3 TPT. Key Verse: v3.
Now, as they were approaching Jerusalem, they arrived at the place of the stables near Bethany on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent5 two of his disciples ahead and said to them, “As soon as you enter the village ahead, you will find a donkey’s colt tethered there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it to me. And if anyone asks, ‘Why are you taking it?’ tell them, ‘The master needs it and will send it back to you soon.’”
In the days Jesus did his earthly ministry, animals were used for transportation as well as mechanised farming. They were the earliest means of carriage available just the way we use automobiles today. Now Jesus needed to enter Jerusalem in a kingly manner in preparation for the rounding up of his earthly assignment and sent his disciples to go and get this particular donkey that no man had ever sat on for him to use and return to the owner later. That was a type of brand new bike or car of today. When they were untying it, some people, probably the owners wanted to understand what was going on. As instructed, they told them that the master had need of it and will return same after usage, and they let them have their way.
Now there are many reading this that the Lord is placing certain demands on that are struggling with it. There are things in our hands the Lord needs. Some people the Lord wants them to give out something precious to them to bless other men or to elevate his work in some places. Instead of seeing such demand of the Spirit as opportunity or ladder to climb higher in life, they are holding on to what they have like children who don’t have understanding. Many people in the kingdom of God has failed the test for promotion in life that will enable them operate in higher blessings, because they loved what God gave them more than the Lord who gave them such things. ”Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Genesis 22:1-2 NIV. After Abraham passed this test, he became whom he is today in reality.
There are others that the Lord is calling into the realms of higher kingdom responsibility. Some are being called into realms of higher kingdom service by becoming preachers and teachers, they need to become God’s voice in their lifetime. There are others the Lord wants to give special assignments and they are reluctant because they don’t have enough trust on the master to take care of them. It is easy to say that we love God and can die for him just like Peter and yet deny him when we feel threatened. I have also seen some ladies that say I can’t marry a man of God, yet they claim they love God. All these happen because men don’t trust God enough to take care of their needs. I keep telling people that if they think serving God is cumbersome, they should try Satan. Anything we give to Jesus, he always multiplies and returns back to us in multiple fold, including our lives and resources. God doesn’t joke with giving at any level because it’s a form of worship. “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6:38 KJV.
Prayer :Thank you Father God because you own me and everything I have. Today, I surrender my life to you afresh. Whatever you have given me that you have need of in your kingdom, I surrender including my life. Use me and all I have to your glory. I won’t fail the test of my promotion in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
