Topic : Gains Of Partnering With Jesus
Memory Verse: Luke 5:4. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
Bible Reading :Luke 5:1-3 NIV. Key Verse : v3.
One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.
On this eventful day brother Peter laboured all night tranversing the sea and came out frustrated by daybreak with nothing to show for his expertise and efforts. As he was washing his fishing gadgets getting ready to leave, Jesus arrived on the scene. Many people followed him in order to hear the most popular man that ever lived. Jesus had need to use a boat there by the lakeside to reach the people. As God will have it, he entered the boat belonging to Peter who willingly released his boat to be used by the master. In making this sacrifice, Peter partnered with Jesus in reaching out to the people. When Jesus Christ finished with the people, he now came back to Peter to teach him that success in life doesn’t come by struggle, but by divine intervention.
“When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.” Luke 5:4-7. Because brother Peter passed the test of patiently partnering with the master in difficult times, he got a miracle that he never solicited for. Not only that, this particular encounter with Jesus opened him up for higher blessings. His eternal destiny was also activated there without wasting any time.
”So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, “ Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people .” Luke 5:7-10. There and then Jesus upgraded the status of brother Peter from an ordinary fisherman to become a fisher of men. That’s the reason he became the rock that could carry the burden of modern day move of God on earth. ”And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:18-19.
Prayer :Thank you Father God because success doesn’t come by struggles of men, but by divine blessing. Help me to always live my life joining my hands with you to move your kingdom forward anytime I have opportunity. Thank you because as I partner with you, my own life will become easy and my purpose on earth shall be activated and fulfilled in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
