Topic :Always Give God The Glory.
Memory Verse :Acts 3:15. You killed the one who leads to life, but God raised him from death — and we are witnesses to this.
Bible Reading : Acts 3:12-14 GNB. Key Verse : v13.
When Peter saw the people, he said to them, “Fellow-Israelites, why are you surprised at this, and why do you stare at us? Do you think that it was by means of our own power or godliness that we made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has given divine glory to his Servant Jesus. But you handed him over to the authorities, and you rejected him in Pilate’s presence, even after Pilate had decided to set him free. He was holy and good, but you rejected him, and instead you asked Pilate to do you the favour of turning loose a murderer.
Apostle Peter and John was going to the place of prayer this time when they encountered a man who had been lame from birth. This very young man survived by being wheeled to the entrance of the temple called beautiful where he begged for alms daily. When he saw the Apostles coming to the place of prayer, he fixed his eyes on them expecting to receive some piece of money as usual. But this time, God was out to change his story. “So he looked at them, expecting to get something from them. But Peter said to him, “I have no money at all, but I give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I order you to get up and walk!” Then he took him by his right-hand and helped him up. At once the man’s feet and ankles became strong; he jumped up, stood on his feet, and started walking around. Then he went into the Temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God.” Acts 3:5-8.
The people watching was struck with awe because of this miraculous healing and restoration of sound health through this encounter with Peter and John. They gathered round them as the healed man out of excitement held on the servants of God rejoicing. The disciples used that opportunity to return the glory to Jesus and to call them to repentance from their rebellious and evil ways. Peter was quick to move the attention of his audience from looking at themselves as being responsible for the miracle. He made them know that Jesus Christ whom they rejected and crucified and who arose from the dead, was responsible to the healing. He made them understand that that very miracle was a pointer to the fact that Jesus Christ truly arose from the dead and therefore lives forevermore.
Today we have to learn that miracles are a seal or proof that Jesus Christ in whose name they are always done is real and alive. Only a living man or God can make things happen that the eyes can see. Again we have to learn also that bearing witness of Jesus Christ as saviour, redeemer and king is key to activating divine intervention in fulfillment of the scripture. We must therefore learn to return all glory to him anytime he does awasome things in our lives or through us. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” KJV.
Prayer :Thank you Father God for exalting the name of Jesus Christ your son about every other. As I bear witness of your goodness and redemptive grace, fill my life and ministry with your mighty miracles. Thank you for counting me worthy to bear witness of the truth in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
Yearly Bible Reading : Mathew 28:8-15.
