Topic : Test Comes Before The Triumph.

Memory Verse :Deuteronomy 8:10. You will have all you want to eat, and you will give thanks to the Lord your God for the fertile land that he has given you.

Bible Reading : Deuteronomy 8:7-9 GNB. Key Verse :v9.

The Lord your God is bringing you into a fertile land — a land that has rivers and springs, and underground streams gushing out into the valleys and hills; a land that produces wheat and barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives, and honey. There you will never go hungry or ever be in need. Its rocks have iron in them, and from its hills you can mine copper.

After God delivered the children of Israel from slavery and bondage in Egypt, he began to lead them in the paths they had not known so that they could get to the promised land or a place of abundance and rest. The only thing they needed to do was to obey his commandment. ““Obey faithfully all the laws that I have given you today, so that you may live, increase in number, and occupy the land which the Lord promised to your ancestors. Remember how the Lord your God led you on this long journey through the desert these past forty years, sending hardships to test you, so that he might know what you intended to do and whether you would obey his commands.” Deuteronomy 8:1-2.

Before the fulness of the blesings of the Lord could come to the people of God, they had to pass through difficult times in the wilderness. The unpleasant situations they encountered in the course of their journey were tests from the Lord to know how much they loved God. The love of every individual for God is always measured by what we can endure because of him. “He made you go hungry, and then he gave you manna to eat, food that you and your ancestors had never eaten before. He did this to teach you that human beings must not depend on bread alone to sustain them, but on everything that the Lord says.” Deuteronomy 8:3. The ones who failed this test by rebelling against the Lord and his servants sent to lead or guide them couldn’t make it to the promised land.

At last they arrived Canaan, the place of divine abundance. We are learning today that God’s plan for every of his child is to bring us to the place of abundance and rest. Knowing his will, we can’t afford to be discouraged or consider giving up when we go through difficult times that come to us as our personal tests. If we are able to stand faithfully with him unconditionally, he is always able to keep his word of promise. Another thing we have to take home is to always ask God for a heart that remains submissive, even when we begin to live in our dreams by the help of the Lord. “When you have all you want to eat and have built good houses to live in and when your cattle and sheep, your silver and gold, and all your other possessions have increased, make sure that you do not become proud and forget the Lord your God who rescued you from Egypt, where you were slaves.” Deuteronomy 8:12.

Prayer : Thank you Father God because you are faithful in all your ways. Help me by your Spirit not to fail when my faith in you is being tested. When you finally bring me to the place of abundance and fulfillment, keep me loyal to the end in Jesus precious name… Amen 🙏🏿.

Yearly Bible Reading : Luke 19:1-27.
