ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Topic : Live To Please Jesus.

Memory Verse : Colossians 3:4. Your real life is Christ and when he appears, then you too will appear with him and share his glory!

Bible Reading : Colossians 3:1-3 GNB. Key Verse : v2.

You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right-hand side of God. Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

One thing that makes following Jesus unique is that through him, we have unhindered access to the father. Anytime people try to reach the father who is God almighty through any other means, they patronise fallen angels or evil spirits who does everything within their reach to deceive them. This means that not every encounter with spirit beings does glorify God. One of the reasons there are many false religion out there is that the devil is bent on taking men as far away as he can from God through all kinds of beliefs that are not in agreement with the word of God.

When men finally find the paths of truth and righteousness, the enemy will change his tactics. At this point, he will come with loads of distractions to make sure people focus on things that don’t have eternal value. As important as such things may seem for a good earthly life, we can’t take them anywhere when we breath our last. This he does to make sure such believers never have a solid stand in their faith. On the contrary, the call to follow Jesus Christ is a call to pursue God and things that concerns him and the kingdom of his dear son. The things of the kingdom of God always point a man heavenwards where the throne of God is. If you look at the earthly ministry of Jesus, he always called men to follow him, so that he could make such individuals. This call to follow is for men who intentionally want to die to the worldly system of doing things, so that they can live to please their master whom they love. Timothy 2:1-5.

Today we have to learn that as believers, the remaining part of our lives should be tailored to please Jesus. We have to intentionally concentrate our efforts in pursuing the kingdom of God and it’s attendant righteousness. We have to see other things as additions that will help us have a conducive atmosphere to serve God. Men who focus their entire life on mundane things, can’t build a strong relationship with their creator. “Do not love the world or anything that belongs to the world. If you love the world, you do not love the Father. Everything that belongs to the world — what the sinful self desires, what people see and want, and everything in this world that people are so proud of — none of this comes from the Father; it all comes from the world. The world and everything in it that people desire is passing away; but those who do the will of God live for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17.

Prayer :Thank you Lord Jesus for giving up your life to save my soul. From today, help me to live my entire life following you. Keep me from every distractions that weakens the faith of many. Let my life be such that commands your glory in Jesus wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.

Yearly Bible Reading : Luke 17:1-19.
