ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.

Friday April 4th, 2025.

Topic : Serving With Conviction.

Memory Verse : ‭Daniel 3:25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

Bible Reading : ‭Daniel 3:16-18 NIV‬. Key Verse :v18.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

The Bible which is God’s word given to us in a written form is not just an ordinary story book. Some of these records of the experiences of men of old are meant to challenge as well as build up our faith in the Lord. Men like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego stood out in their lifetime because they went an extra mile to cultivate a relationship with the God of their fathers who is the creator of the universe. Such relationship gave them an uncommon opportunity to know their God more intimately than other Jews scattered in the land of Babylon who compromised their faith at the slightest opportunity and succumbed to every treath that was thrown at them to rubbish their faith. All those Jews who were in the majority died miserably and nobody ever knew they really existed because history has forgotten them. This is because they chose to live ordinary lives of convinienve in a world that is full of battles. At the end, Daniel drew a conclusion that…..”And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Daniel 11:32 KJV.

Now coming back to our main text, the die was cast. After God blessed and lifted and blessed a man like king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, he became carried away by his achievements and began to dream of taking control of not just political, but religious activities in his territory in a manner that people must see him as a god as obey and serve his idols with him or be killed. In his illusion, he casted a golden image and passed a decree that all men in his territory must worship or be put to death by burning in the furnace of fire which he had prepared. But men like Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego had overgrown such fear of treath to life in their walk with God. They valued their relationship with God and eternity with him above temporary pleasure and safety as made available by unreliable men who could always die or be kicked outbof power. They stood their ground in the midst of stiff opposition and treath to their lives. When they were given a human lifeline after they refused to bow the first time. They couldn’t not feel the heat of the terrible furnace being increased by men, rather the heat of divine judgement awaiting the rebellious against God was more real to them than ever. That singularly influenced their decision to die should God choose not to deliver them, though they were sure that he had capacity to do so.

At the end, heaven whom they stood firmly for showed up to honor their faith. Lives of their oppressors was taken by the heat of the furnace while the men thrown into the furnace proper enjoyed divine company. Now, I must point out here that the true and living God doesn’t force himself on any man, neither does men who truly speak for him force things on people. Our God has proven his power to the world by what he created which man himself is inclusive. The things he created speaks volumes about him. He woos men to himself rather by love with is revealed by sacrifice of his son and genuine care fo our souls. We have to beware of any religion that forces things on men in the name of their version of god because they are all illusionary just like the attempt of Nebuchadnezzar to force himself and his error on men who knew their God and his good and glorious plan for their lives. Today, we have to ask the Lord to open the eyes of our understanding to know him intimately to a point where we can’t be swayed by what we are going through or treaths of men and stuffs like that. God is looking for men like Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego in our days, whose resolve and activities will cause kings and a whole people under them to experience a new move of his Spirit and power.

Prayer :Thank you Father God because you are real in my life more than anything else. Thank you for making me your own. Take me deeper into you. Help me to serve you with a conviction that will cause my generation to follow me and serve you by reason of impact in Jesus mighty name… Amen 🙏🏿.
