Bible Reading : 2 Corinthians 1:2-4 GNB. Key Verse : v3.

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father, the God from whom all help comes. He helps us in all our troubles, so that we are able to help others who have all kinds of troubles, using the same help that we ourselves have received from God.

Challenges, trials or troubles are one of the things every individual on the surface of the earth faces daily. These troubles or trials comes in different sizes and shapes too. This means that some are more devastating than others. They become battles that we must win to make progress or enter the next phase of our growth or maturity in life. As for believers, we live conscious of a life of union with Jesus. This means that whatever comes our way, we don’t face such alone. Just like the three Hebrews sons in the book of Daniel chapter 3 in the furnace of fire, we always enjoy the company of the Master when situation stronger than what an ordinary man can bear comes our way.

One of the reasons the Lord permits troubles, trials or suffering as one may call it is to build up the experience profile of the believer, so that we can be more useful in his mighty hands. In Acts chapter 16 we see Paul and his ministry partner Silas arrested and detained in prison for preaching the gospel. Ar night instead of mourning, they began to praise and petition heaven. God had no choice but to show up on their behalf in the prison. “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, which shook the prison to its foundations. At once all the doors opened, and the chains fell off all the prisoners.” Acts 16:25-26.

“The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he thought that the prisoners had escaped; so he pulled out his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul shouted at the top of his voice, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” The jailer called for a light, rushed in, and fell trembling at the feet of Paul and Silas. Then he led them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”” Acts 16:27-30. The resultant effect of this intervention or mighty deliverance, was the salvation of the involved prison warden and his family. After this incident, the ministry of Paul and Silas became stronger knowing what God can do in very difficult situations, when we have the right attitude. Today, remember that the Lord will never abandon you in times of trouble if you serve him with a genuine heart. He will always come through with his help or comfort as we may to call it. He will do it so that your trust in him can soar to a higher pedestal for kingdom exploits purposes, so that you can encourage others coming behind with your testimonies.

Prayer :Thank you Father God because you will never forget or abandon your own. Thank you for bringing me into a life of glorious union with you. Thank you for turning my troubles into glorious testimonies that will draw men to you in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
