Memory Verse: Ephesians 4:32. Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.

Bible Reading :Ephesians 4:29-31. Key Verse :

Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you. And do not make God’s Holy Spirit sad; for the Spirit is God’s mark of ownership on you, a guarantee that the Day will come when God will set you free. Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort.

As Apostle Paul was getting close to the last part of his letter to the Ephesian believers, he began to teach how to avoid things that cause divisions, so that they including ourselves could live as men that have a common faith and destiny in Christ Jesus and being kept by his Spirit. “I urge you, then — I who am a prisoner because I serve the Lord: live a life that measures up to the standard God set when he called you. Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another. Do your best to preserve the unity which the Spirit gives by means of the peace that binds you together. There is one body and one Spirit, just as there is one hope to which God has called you.” Ephesians 4:1-4.

As men who are partakers of one Spirit, there are ways we are expected to behave in relating with one another.” So get rid of your old self, which made you live as you used to — the old self that was being destroyed by its deceitful desires. Your hearts and minds must be made completely new, and you must put on the new self, which is created in God’s likeness and reveals itself in the true life that is upright and” holy.” Ephesians 4:22-24. Some of the old nature we need to work on ourselves to eliminate is prolonged anger which leads to bitterness towards one another. Our anger must be controlled and must not be allowed to linger. We must be careful in our choice of words while dealing with each other to avoid using words that are derogatory. Rather our words has to be seasoned, ones that soothes and bring comfort and encouragement in order to make us a blessing.

We have to avoid postures towards one another that grieves the Spirit of God who is the common personality joining us together with one another and the Godhead himself. Such unfriendly and hostile postures most of the time are responsible for unanswered prayers among us as children of God. Many are living in unreconcilable bitterness and unforgiveness towards one another, even as family members including people who are husband and wife. They don’t see anything wrong with their strives against each other and still claim to be order in their walk with God. Some people’s hearts are so hard that they resist every efforts towards genuine reconciliation. To such folks, Apostle Paul penned down this last piece of admonition….”Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort. Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.” Ephesians 4:31-32.

Prayer :Thank you Father God because you desire that my relationship with you and fellow believers be very healthy. Today I ask for a heart that obeys divine instructions, one that forgives easily. Let my words and actions be an encouragement to others always in Jesus precious name… Amen 🙏🏿.
