Bible Reading : 1 Corinthians 1:29-31 GNB. Key Verse: v30.
This means that no one can boast in God’s presence. But God has brought you into union with Christ Jesus, and God has made Christ to be our wisdom. By him we are put right with God; we become God’s holy people and are set free. So then, as the scripture says, “Whoever wants to boast must boast of what the Lord has done.”
The good news of salvation through Jesus Christ is the best thing that happened to humanity. It sounds so sweet and simple that some people find it difficult to believe because of it’s simplicity. We lack words sometimes to explain the depth of love that moved God to give up Jesus Christ his only begotten son to die for the sins of the human race. His sacrifice becomes a game changer for us, when we believe. That is the height of the wisdom of God revealed, that by the preaching and acceptance of the work of the cross, sinners can become saints and ordinary men can become one with God Almighty. “For God in his wisdom made it impossible for people to know him by means of their own wisdom. Instead, by means of the so-called “foolish” message we preach, God decided to save those who believe. Jews want miracles for proof, and Greeks look for wisdom. but for those whom God has called, both Jews and Gentiles, this message is Christ, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:21-22,23.
Salvation launches us into a life of union with the saviour himself. The implications of this union is that we now live a life of partnership with him. He becomes a factor in whatever we do or that happens to us as a stakeholder. This relationship redefines our lives as believers in entirety. At this point he gets involved in everything that concerns us, because of the union or partnership. This relationship is solidified by the presence of his Spirit, given to us as a mark of ownership (identity) or separation unto himself. “Let us, then, who were the first to hope in Christ, praise God’s glory! And you also became God’s people when you heard the true message, the Good News that brought you salvation. You believed in Christ, and God put his stamp of ownership on you by giving you the Holy Spirit he had promised. The Spirit is the guarantee that we shall receive what God has promised his people, and this assures us that God will give complete freedom to those who are his. Let us praise his glory!” Ephesians 1:12-14.
When we understand the implications of this new relationship with Christ, it makes our lives on earth easier and worthwhile. This means that we can’t be helpless or hopeless, but can always fall back on him in times of need as our creator and senior partner in the union or relationship we have with him. When you have understanding that he is involved anytime yourself is involved in any venture or situation, some pressures of life will disappear on their own because you are sure that he can never loose any battles. Truth is that he has gotten the victory already in every battles for us by the same finished work of the cross where his last word was “it is finished”. “Israel, the Lord who created you says, “Do not be afraid — I will save you. I have called you by name — you are mine.
When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burnt; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the Lord your God, the holy God of Israel, who saves you. I will give up Egypt to set you free; I will give up Ethiopia and Seba.” Isaiah 43:1-3.
Prayer :Thank you Father God because of what you did did for me in Christ Jesus your son. Thank you for saving me and making me one with you. Thank you for giving me your Spirit as a mark of ownership. Thank you because I will never face life challenges alone anymore. Thank you for giving me victory in every battles of life in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
