Topic : He Will Always Come Through.
Memory Verse : Job 12:21. He pours contempt on nobles and disarms the mighty.
Bible Reading : Job 12:13-15 NIV. Key Verse : v14.
“To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his. What he tears down cannot be rebuilt; those he imprisons cannot be released. If he holds back the waters, there is drought; if he lets them loose, they devastate the land.
Job was down and sick because God permitted the enemy to test his stand with him. He lost everything that made him the wealthiest in the east at that point in time in history in a day. It was as if the ocean of troubles broke loose over him and his household. He lost all he had including his children and business investments in day, as one bad news filtered in after another till he was left with nothing except his wife. Not only that, the enemy struck him with boils to the extent that he lived in his shadows. Everything around him began to stink and work contrary. Even his friends who came trying to help became another burden as they misunderstood what was going on. They suspected Job to have lived in secret sin to deserve what he was going through because God can never be unjust. ”Oh, how I wish that God would speak, that he would open his lips against you and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom has two sides. Know this: God has even forgotten some of your sin.” Job 11:5-6.
In Job’s response from where we took our text, we see deep wisdom. There’s a dimension of God that no man will ever comprehend because he does whatever pleases and glorifies himself in any given situation. No power he created can stand him because they all serve his purpose here on earth, not even in the heavens. He has the final say in every situation we find ourselves. Nothing can challenge his authority. “What he tears down cannot be rebuilt; those he imprisons cannot be released. If he holds back the waters, there is drought; if he lets them loose, they devastate the land. To him belong strength and insight; both deceived and deceiver are his. He leads rulers away stripped and makes fools of judges.” Job 12:14-17.
We need to learn to humble ourselves before the Lord always knowing that we can’t change anything he does, neither is there anyone that can deliver from his hands. Wisdom demands that we live to seek his face and to please him knowing that everything we are looking in life that is good is found in him. His love, just and faithful nature should help us build our trust unshakeably in him just like Job himself. Though Job couldn’t understand what was happening to him, he had enough trust in God that kept his hope in him alive all the days of his adversity. Because he was calm and submissive to God even in the midst of his troubles, heaven came through for him at last. ”The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.” Job 42:12, 15.
Prayer :Thank you Father God because of your most loving, faithful and just nature that cannot fail. Thank you because as a father, you always come through for your children. Thank you because your promises gives me peace in the midst of trouble. I bless you for giving me all round victory today in Jesus wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
