Memory Verse :
2 Corinthians 4:12. So, then, death is at work in us but it releases life in you.
Bible Reading : 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 TPT. Key Verse : v7.
We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God’s, not ours. Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out.
When we turn to live for Jesus Christ, we are initiated into a life of glory. This glory is a bye product of God’s presence as revealed by his Spirit that in-habits us. The importance of the Holy Spirit in a believer’s life therefore cannot be overempasised. The Holy Spirit makes power or divine ability available to us for our daily Christian living. “He came to his own country, but his own people did not receive him. Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God’s children. They did not become God’s children by natural means, that is, by being born as the children of a human father; God himself was their Father.” John 1:11-13 GNB.
Now we must note that God’s presence in our lives through the channel of Holy Spirit does not eliminate challenges, trouble or even persecution when they want to come our way. Rather he makes strength available to us through his ministry of comfort that helps us weather the storm of life in victory. This is how we are able to surmount challenges and flourish sometimes under unbelievable circumstances. “So no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our outer person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day. We view our slight, short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison, because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.
On a conclusive note, we need to realise that challenges and storms are instruments that God uses to prepare us to carry the glory of God in our weakness or as earthen vessels. This fragility helps us appreciate the need to depend on God continually for strength under any circumstances. “We continually share in the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the resurrection life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. We consider living to mean that we are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake so that the life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. So, then, death is at work in us but it releases life in you.” 2 Corinthians 4:10-12.
Prayer : Thank you Lord Jesus for giving me your Spirit to be my strength in the journey of life. Help me to depend on, as well as always cooperate with your Spirit in order to overcome challenges and live out the life of Christ here on earth in Jesus precious name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
Yearly Bible Reading : Luke 13:22-35.
