Topic : Be A Soul Winner.
Memory Verse : Luke 19:1. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” NIV.
The Passion Translation Luke 15:4-6 TPT. Key Verse : v4.
“There once was a shepherd with a hundred lambs, but one of his lambs wandered away and was lost. So the shepherd left the ninety-nine lambs out in the open field and searched in the wilderness for that one lost lamb. He didn’t stop until he finally found it. With exuberant joy he raised it up and placed it on his shoulders, carrying it back with cheerful delight! Returning home, he called all his friends and neighbors together and said, ‘Let’s have a party! Come and celebrate with me the return of my lost lamb. It wandered away, but I found it and brought it home.’”
Jesus was God, but came down voluntarily to the earth as a man for this primary purpose of seeking lost men and restoring them to himself. The people who witnessed his days on earth knew he was from God, but they had issues with the way he mingled with sinners. They thought he shouldn’t expose himself to certain people especially sinners. They became uncomfortable the way he embraced and related with them. Because they complained among themselves, he made efforts to let them understand the importance God attached to the soul of every single sinner. He used some parable to explain his stand with the sinners. ”“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?” Luke 15:4 NIV.
Many people don’t understand the value God placed on their soul. Jesus here likened God to a shepherd who had a hundred sheep, but one got lost probably by straying in the wilderness where were pastured. The shephered had to keep the remaining 99 in safe custody so that he could find the one that strayed away. He didn’t return till he found the missing sheep. When he had found the lost sheep, he returned with joy to celebrate the one recovered sheep with his friends and loved ones. ”And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” Luke 15:5-7 NIV.
Today there lost souls around you and all over the places Jesus intends to reach. He intends to search them out wherever the enemy had taken them to. Jesus is present here on earth physically through our humble selves. There are numerous people who are lost in sin that the Lord intends to use us and reach out to, as his own body. “But how can people call on him for help if they’ve not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they’ve not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it? And how can the message be proclaimed if messengers have yet to be sent? That’s why the Scriptures say: How welcome is the arrival of those proclaiming the joyful news of peace and of good things to come!” Romans 10:14-15. Make sure you share the love of God that made Jesus die to save us with someone today. Remember that wise men engage in soul winning activities.
Prayer :Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me so that you can use me to reach out to others. Use me to reach out to the lost as you will and as I make myself available to be used. Thank you Lord Jesus for restoring lost men to yourself through my humble efforts in Jesus precious name… Amen 🙏🏿.
