Topic: Pitch Your Tent With The Good Shepherd.

Memory Verse :‭‭John 10:10. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Bible Reading :‭John 10:7-9 NIV‬. Key Verse : v17.

Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

Before Jesus Christ came to the earth and after he ascended back to the heavens, many pretenders had been on rampage making all kinds of claims about their encounter with God or some angels, most of which evaporated with time. Most of them ended up bringing more confusion to their followers and causing more harm to mankind than solutions. Some teachings of some of these religious leaders is the reason the whole world is troubled the more in our days as some of their teachings has become obsolete and unpractible in modern societies. When you juxtapose their teachings with that of Jesus Christ, who is the true voice of God to all men, you will discover that his teachings are timeless (relevant in every generation). Because these religious leaders were men, they had weaknesses, unlike Jesus who is God, and therefore lived a perfect life when he was on earth.

Truth is that there are no many ways to God, rather there is only one way to God, and that way is in his son Jesus Christ. Every other alternatives, no matter how attractive and appealing they may appear, leads to error and destruction.‭‭ “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
John 10:1-5. See also Acts 4:12.

Jesus is the good shepherd in the sense that his mission is very clear, to raise a people unto himself. These men he died to redeem with his blood so that Satan will have no legal ground to operate freely in their lives and in anything that concerns them anymore, because they are under the territorial coverage of Jesus himself spiritually. He doesn’t only save our lives from destruction, he also makes sure that he watches over us daily against the incursions of the wicked. He leads us in the paths of peace and safety by the help of his word and Spirit given to us to guide us through the journey of life. He has shown us enough love to compel us to follow and serve him with joy, being assured of his good plans for each and every one of us. ‭‭”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13.

Prayer :Thank you Father God for giving me your son Jesus to die that I may live. Help me to take full advantage of his sacrifice on the cross. In your mercy, let your word and Spirit be my guide daily through the journey of life in Jesus precious name…. Amen 🙏🏿.

Yearly Bible Reading : 1 Samuel 25:1-42.
