Topic: Jesus Christ Is Risen.

Memory Verse :‭‭Matthew 28:1-3. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Bible Reading :‭Matthew 28:1-3 NIV‬. Key Verse: v6.

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

After Jesus was crucified on the cross, a prominent man know as Joseph of Arimathaea went to Pilate and requested for the body of Jesus because he had been a disciple, so that he could bury him. On the third day, being the first day of the week (Sunday), some women who were his friends and followers went to anoint or embalm his body with spices. On getting to the tomb, they met an angel of God who’se presence was frightening. The angel calmed them down because they were afraid of his dazzling appearance. He made them understand that Jesus was risen and therefore was no more in the grave. ‭‭”The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
Matthew 28:5-7.

After he was buried, some wicked people reminded themselves that Jesus talked about resurrection before he was crucified. They got permission from the authorities and mobilised soldiers to make sure that there was adequate security at the tomb to avoid any manipulations or his disciples from coming to take him away pretending he resurrected. “The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate. “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’ So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that he has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.”Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” Matthew 27:62-65.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is what separated him from ordinary men who claim to be religious leaders. Resurrection of Jesus stood Christianity out of religion and gave it life and a voice. One of the implication of his resurrection is that we are following a living and not a dead God. Many rose up in their lifetime with all kinds of deception and claims to Divinity. Because they are ordinary men, they could not walk in the supernatural. Nature took it’s toll on them and they aged, died and hopelessly too and was buried and they remained in the grave. But Jesus arose, was seen by many including his disciples and ascended back into the heavens. ‭‭”After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Acts 1:9-11.

Prayer :Thank you father God for bringing me into a lively hope through your son Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord Jesus because the grave could not hold you captive. By your resurrection power, every good thing the enemy stole, destroyed and killed in my life comes back to life today in Jesus mighty name… Amen 🙏🏿.
