Topic: Benefits Of His Death.
Memory Verse: Isaiah 53:3. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
Bible Reading :Isaiah 53:1-3 NIV. Key Verse: v4.
Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
By the justice system of God, without the shedding of blood, there can be no forgiveness of sin. When man had the fall in Eden by disobeying the voice of his creator that was meant to preserve and retain him in God’s love and plan. Man listened to the voice the voice of Satan who used the serpent as a vehicle to carry out his wicked onslaught against man. Blood of animals was used in the old testament as a temporary measure, but God needed a permanent solution to deal with the problem of sin in men. “For if animal sacrifices could once and for all eliminate sin, they would have ceased to be offered and the worshipers would have clean consciences. Instead, once was not enough so by the repetitive sacrifices year after year, the worshipers were continually reminded of their sins, with their hearts still impure. For what power does the blood of bulls and goats have to remove sin’s guilt?” Hebrews 10:2-4 TPT.
Because Jesus was a man that had not sin, so he had capacity to save sinners using his own blood to atone for our sins once and for all. Because the justice system of God demands for the death of the sinner or sinners, he submitted himself and was processed and finally condemned instead of ourselves. We were in him when he faced the wrath of God that is attendant to sin, hence he couldn’t defend himself any bit before Pilate.
“First he said, Multiple burnt-offerings and sin-offerings cannot satisfy your justice” (even though the law required them to be offered). And then he said, “God, I will be the One to go and do your will.” So by being the sacrifice that removes sin, he abolishes animal sacrifices and replaces that entire system with the new covenant. By God’s will we have been purified and made holy once and for all through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus, the Messiah!” Hebrews 10:8-10 TPT.
His death destroyed in totality every works of the devil in the lives of men. Because sin was the root of all the problems of man, when sin was taken care of permanently, every other aspect of the lives of men was fixed automatically. In his death, we didn’t only receive pardon, but also we were restorec to God’s original plan of a life of dominion as overcomers. ”After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” Isaiah 53:11-12.
Prayer : Thank you Father God for giving me Jesus, who took my place and died to save my soul. Thank you because his death destroyed every works of the devil in my life permanently. Thank you for restoring all that I lost through the fall in Jesus name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
