Topic: Jesus Is Here To Change Your Story.
Memory Verse: Mark 10:49. And Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
Bible Reading: Mark 10:46-48 KJV. Key verse: v48.
And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
This man was indeed blind, but people of his day worsened the predicament of this particular man by using that as an identity for him. Because he was blind people never cared to know or call him his normal name anymore. There is no way his parents wouldn’t have given him a proper name at birth which his people discarded. To them, he was just the blind son of Timaeus. Not only that people refuse to recognize him by his real name as given by his parents, but he was also seen as somebody who shouldn’t have a voice, even to demand help from the master when he needed it. “When he heard that Jesus from Nazareth was passing by, he began to shout “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me now in my affliction. Heal me!” Those in the crowd were indignant and scolded him for making so much of a disturbance, but he kept shouting with all his might, “Son of David, have mercy on me now and heal me!” Mark 10:47-48 TPT.
Jesus was touched by the struggles of this young man with people and destiny and changed his life and story for good by not only giving him desired attention, but also granting his request to be healed. “Jesus stopped and said, “Call him to come to me.” So they went to the blind man and said, “Have courage! Get up! Jesus is calling for you!” So he threw off his beggars’ cloak, jumped up, and made his way to Jesus. Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The man replied, “My Master, please, let me see again!” Jesus responded, “Your faith heals you. Go in peace, with your sight restored.” All at once, the man’s eyes opened and he could see again, and he began at once to follow Jesus, walking down the road with him.” Mark 10:49-52 TPT.
“A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow!” John 10:10 TPT. Today Jesus is here to restore every good thing the enemy stole, destroyed or killed in your life. Think about the fact that Jesus came to the earth in order that men might have a good life through him, especially your good self. Can you see him passing? Can you hear him telling you to migrate from troubles of life to solutions now? “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;” Acts 10:38-40.
Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus for for coming to the earth just for me. I give you glory because I know you have what it takes to meet my needs. Today I decree total restoration upon my…… (mention them). I declare by the word of the Lord that every good thing the enemy stole from my life is restored now in Jesus’ wonderful name….. Amen 🙏🏿.
Yearly Bible Reading: Jude 2:17-25.
