ENTHRONEMENT ASSEMBLY DAILY DEVOTIONALS.
Tuesday 12th December, 2023.
Topic: Pray For Generational Liberators.
Memory Verse: Genesis 37:21. Reuben hears the brothers talking and intervenes to save him, “We’re not going to kill him.
Bible Reading: Genesis 37:18-20 MSG. Key Verse: v19.
They spotted him off in the distance. By the time he got to them they had cooked up a plot to kill him. The brothers were saying, “Here comes that dreamer. Let’s kill him and throw him into one of these old cisterns; we can say that a vicious animal ate him up. We’ll see what his dreams amount to.”
Joseph was a born deliverer; a man destined to be used by God to preserve the lives of generations in a region. The fact that God created him for that purpose didn’t make him different from his brothers in appearance, he was just like any one of them in the family. When he began to share what looked like bogus or wild dreams, the brothers and to some extent, even the parents found it difficult to understand where he was coming from, not to talk of where he was going. “His brothers said, “So! You’re going to rule us? You’re going to boss us around?” And they hated him more than ever because of his dreams and the way he talked. He had another dream and told this one also to his brothers: “I dreamed another dream—the sun and moon and eleven stars bowed down to me!” When he told it to his father and brothers, his father reprimanded him: “What’s with all this dreaming? Am I and your mother and your brothers all supposed to bow down to you?” Genesis 37:8-10.
Here, because the family didn’t understand divine agenda and the kind of pictures God was painting through the dream of this young man, they thought that eliminating him was a solution to their undue hatred and envy. Imagine what would have happened to his family and the region whose destiny and survival at a critical time of famine was attached to Mr nobody in the family of Jacob, called Joseph, the arrogant dreamer. Glory to God for using Ruben and Judah to save the day, as they finally sold him out to go and die who knows where. “Judah said, “Brothers, what are we going to get out of killing our brother and concealing the evidence? Let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites, but let’s not kill him—he is, after all, our brother, our own flesh and blood.” His brothers agreed. By that time the Midianite traders were passing by. His brothers pulled Joseph out of the cistern and sold him for twenty pieces of silver to the Ishmaelites who took Joseph with them down to Egypt.” Genesis 37:26-28.
Today, we are praying for families, people and nations. The Spirit is saying that many families, people and nations are where they are this day because their Joseph is yet to ascend the place of authority. Some of them are languishing because of hatred and conspiracy of wicked men who feel unsafe because of what they think they stand to loose. No matter the prayers we pray, as long as such men doesn’t take their place in destiny, men will keep groping because the destiny of many are tied to their rising, though to us they may look ordinary and unqualified. “Come closer to me,” Joseph said to his brothers. They came closer. “I am Joseph your brother whom you sold into Egypt. But don’t feel badly, don’t blame yourselves for selling me. God was behind it. God sent me here ahead of you to save lives.” Genesis 45:4-5.
Prayer: Thank you Father God because you are the God of time and purpose. Today I pray for every destiny liberator in my family, home town, nation, region, continent and world whom the enemy is fighting their rising. By the power that makes you God, bring them to the throne so that they can fulfil the purpose for which you are raising them in Jesus’ wonderful name…. Amen 🙏🏿.
Yearly Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 6:3-21.
